Match report: Arrow Harps 2-4 Carbury

Carbury continued their fine start to the 2025/26 Sligo Southern Hotel Super League with a hard earned 4-2 win over Arrow Harps on the new Astro in Riverstown on Sunday morning.

James Heraghty had Carbury leading with two minutes on the clock.

That lead was doubled on 10 minutes when Ryan McManus’ free kick was helped onto the upright by goalkeeper Ultan McKenna, and was eventually helped over the line by Steven Armstrong.

Carbury had plenty of chances to add to their lead, but the home side battled their way back into the game with Niall Kenny reducing the deficit on 20 minutes.

A good save from Adam McLoughlin denied Darragh McKeon before Lee Conway added a third for Carbury just before half time as he nodded in from Nathan Rooney’s ball.

Carbury had more chances after the restart, with James Heraghty somehow nodding wide from two yards out.

A fourth goal did arrive late on when Carbury went on the counter with Zach Gilligan picking out the run of Heraghty who beat the defender and slotted in with just the keeper to beat on 78 minutes.

Harps reduced the deficit late on through McKeon again, but it was too late and Carbury ran out 4-2 winners with their eighth win in nine games.

Carbury are currently seven points clear at the top of the Super League table, but there’s a long way to go yet.
