Sligo Southern Hotel Super League club

Match report: Calry Bohs 2-0 Carbury FC

Carbury find themselves in a relegation battle after losing for a fourth time in five games, this time losing 2-0 to Calry Bohs in Calry on Sunday morning.

Damien Dunleavy’s side have dropped to eighth place in the Sligo Southern Hotel Super League table after three consecutive league defeats.

Calry signalled their intent straight from kick off, with a vital Johnny Lynch block denying the home side a shot a goal with seconds on the clock.

And Calry went ahead three minutes into the game on Sunday morning after a mix-up in defence allowed Ivan Paramonov to find the net.

Carbury dominated the play after going behind, though, with Calry growing frustrated at the pressure they were finding themselves under.

But Carbury squandered chance after chance with Cian Kilcoyne and David Brick trying to find the net, and Calry went into half-time leading by one goal.

Calry should have added a second early in the second-half as they missed a good chance of their own, but they did add a second ten minutes into the half through an own goal from Ben Gavin after another Carbury mistake at the back.

And Calry were comfortable as the game went on, holding on to that two goal lead to take three points that could prove to be very valuable as the season comes to an end.

Carbury’s attention very quickly turns to this Saturday, as we take on Strand Celtic in the Frank Kennedy Memorial Cup final at MacSharry Park.

We would really appreciate all support on the day. Kick-off is 7pm.

Team v Calry: Ben Gavin, Gary Finan, Johnny Lynch (Donagh Crowne, 54, Mark Hannon, Ray Walsh, Steven Armstrong, Lee Conway, David Brick, Gary Farren, Zach Gilligan, Cian Kilcoyne.
